Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-01-13 — Northern Flue Care operates across Canadian provinces. These terms govern all bookings and services.

Bookings

Appointments are subject to availability and may be rescheduled due to weather or safety conditions.

  • Requested time windows are indicative; arrival may vary by ±60 minutes due to traffic and prior job conditions.
  • Remote or limited-access properties may require additional lead time.

Payments

We accept standard Canadian payment methods at service time. Taxes (GST/HST/PST) apply by province.

  • Invoices are due upon completion unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Late balances may accrue interest at 2% per month (26.8% APR) where permitted.

Safety

Technicians may refuse unsafe work areas or appliances that pose immediate hazards.

  • Clients must restrain pets and disclose recent fires, carbon-monoxide alerts, or structural issues.
  • If a hazard is discovered, work pauses until rectified. A safety assessment fee may apply.

Cancellations & No-Show

Please notify us at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled window to cancel or reschedule.

  • Changes within 24 hours may incur a short-notice fee up to 30% of the quoted service.
  • No access on arrival (locked premises, absent adult) may be charged as a call-out.

Liability & Limitations

We exercise reasonable skill and care consistent with industry standards.

  • We are not liable for pre-existing defects, hidden faults, or code non-compliance revealed during service.
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages are excluded to the extent permitted by law.
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific service in question.

Access & Preparation

Clear a safe working area and ensure unobstructed access to appliances, flues, and venting.

  • Cover nearby furnishings; dust containment is performed but minor residue may occur.
  • Snow/ice removal and ladder access must be safe and compliant before roof work.

Fair Use & Conduct

Abuse, harassment, or unsafe directions to staff result in immediate termination of service.

  • Use of results or reports is limited to the property serviced and the commissioning client unless assigned in writing.

Warranties

Workmanship warranties apply to performed services only and exclude normal wear, misuse, and external factors.

  • Report warranty concerns within 14 days of noticing an issue for prompt assessment.

Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or non-performance caused by events beyond reasonable control (e.g., severe weather, disasters, supply chain disruption).

Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of the applicable Canadian province of service. Parties will attempt good-faith resolution before formal action.

1. Scope

These terms apply to inspections, cleaning, repairs, and related chimney or vent services provided by Northern Flue Care (“we”, “us”).

2. Quotes & Variations

Quotes are based on disclosed conditions. Undisclosed issues or additional work requested on-site may adjust scope and price with your approval.

3. Client Responsibilities

  • Provide safe access and accurate property information.
  • Ensure a responsible adult is present during service.
  • Protect valuables and sensitive electronics from dust and vibration.

4. Materials

Where parts are required, we may use OEM or functionally equivalent components compliant with applicable codes and standards.

5. Reports & Certificates

Any inspection reports or certificates reflect conditions observed at the time of service and are not guarantees of future performance.

6. Privacy

7. Termination

Either party may terminate prior to work commencement for a valid reason. Fees may apply for time, travel, or special-order materials.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the province where service is performed, and federally where applicable.
